WELCOME

This delightful little Anglican parish church in Church Lane, Dogmersfield, dating back to 1843, is part of the benefice of Hartley Wintney with Elvetham, Winchfield and Dogmersfield, in the Deanery of Odiham and Diocese of Winchester. Unlike many small villages Dogmersfield maintains a Sunday service every Sunday of the year and, with the exception of the occasional evening services, always at the same time of 10.30am on a Sunday morning. Services are on a varied weekly pattern, see the monthly calendar, and led either by the Vicar, The Rev Canon Robin Ewbank, one of the curates, The Rev Daran Ward and The Rev Shirley Morris, or one of the Readers or retired clergy. Mrs Sarah Groombridge is the Reader resident in the parish who takes a large number of services herself. For fuller details of the staff team or for enquiries about baptisms, weddings and funerals or for more general enquiries about the Christian faith, see Contact Us or visit www.stjohnshw.co.uk. The church office for the administration of all three parishes is in Hartley Wintney, three miles away. For more general information on church weddings please see www.yourchurchwedding.org

The church is well supported by its own organist and choir; the latter sing at most of the weddings as well as for Sunday services. It also has its own band of bell-ringers, who ring for weddings and special occasions and practise on Thursdays.

For small groups visiting up to five cars can usually be safely parked at the main gate.

For Sunday services and special offices we are dependent on the goodwill of the owner of The Dower House adjacent for parking in his field because the church is situated on a dangerously narrow country lane. The current owner is Mr Richard Revell, who must be contacted personally in advance in writing for all services other than the regular Sunday services. The Address is The Dower House, Dogmersfield, RG27 8SZ. He currently charges £60 per service outside of Sunday for the privilege of using this parking.

Dogmersfield also has its own church primary school, whose catchment area extends into Church Crookham and Crookham Village. See www.dogmersfield.hants.sch.uk the school and the church work closely together.

For comfort of visitors the church now has its own loo.
